Spencer Blower

This blower was originally part of a ten-rank Kimball theatre pipe organ built in 1926. The blower plate and motor specifications are as follows:

Motor Specifications:

• 7 1/2 horsepower Woods motor
• 1200 RPM
• 40 degrees Celsius/104 Degrees Farenheit operating temperature
• Full-load power requirements;
  • 19.4 amps @ 220 volts,
  • 9.7 amps @ 440 volts
• Motor was cleaned and rehabilitated prior to re-installation

• Two-turbines (size not given on the blower specification plate)
• 15" static pressure (cfm not given on the blower specification plate)
• Serial number 16604
• Blower powered a ten-rank Kimball with five 16' extensions, two being large scale flue ranks (Bourdon and Tibia Clausa)

The blower is in good condition. Since being rebuilt about 25 years ago, it has seen fewer than 100 hours of operating time. The last time it was in operation, there was a slight vibration which we believe is being caused by one of the impellers moving off of the balance point in the motor shaft. The bearings have been kept well lubricated since the blower was re-built.

The blower is located in a room about 20 feet above stage level, with an access door large enough for the blower housing to be removed without modification. Buyer to remove, but PVTOS will assist with access coordination to the auditorium.
